Maryam, the middle-age woman, said she did not want to divorce her husband because she loved him. "Just tell him to beat me once a week ... He confessed to being disappointed in his daughter's role in the controversy. He said, "When I heard about 60 Minutes, I suspected she would be the producer of the show." In an interview with Talon News, Don Mapes said his suspicion was because that he believed, "Dan Rather and she have been working on this ever since Bush was elected." In commenting on the Wednesday's 60 Minutes show, he said, "It was a farce, it was fraud. I'm sorry as a father that my daughter was the producer of it." His fatherly instinct showed through when he said, "To give her the benefit of the doubt, I believe she has been had." But he also chastised his daughter for being intellectually dishonest. In muhammadan wisdom, Muhammed believed that a woman can make a person related to her by allowing the man to BREAST FEED from her even if he is an ADULT. Don’t worry; I will give the references to all I am saying. The background for these hadith are that there was a woman name Sahla whose husband began to get jealous of his adopted son, and feared that the adopted son would desire the wife. So this woman went to muhammed asking for advise on how she could stop these paranoid feelings her husband is having about their adopted son. Muhammed’s advice was to breast feed this adopted son even if he is an adult now. So Sahla asked, “How can I breast feed him when he is an adult?” So the prophet smiled and said, “I know he is an older man”. Recent claims regarding President Bush’s National Guard service over 30-years ago, seem to be based on documents recently “found” which purport to bolster accusations of Bush’s poor service and performance. ...It was an amazing blunder on the part of these Kerry Kool-Aid drinkers to trot out phony documents that were supposed to damage the reputation of President Bush, but CBS News took the bait. I hope a drumbeat begins now that will force the Senator to release the real stuff. On my desk are copies of FBI documents – not forgeries – that label Kerry’s group, Vietnam Veterans Against the War or VVAW, as the national security risk that it really was. The title of these documents is “New Left – IS.” To FBI agents serving at that time, we knew this to mean that a pro-Communist group known as “The New Left” was considered an internal security threat to this nation. The New Left was known to have adopted a Marxist ideology, and Senator John Kerry was a leader of this group. The FBI no longer uses the label “IS.” They have converted all such investigations to a more accurate name: Domestic Terrorism. Call it what you like; then and now, these are serious matters – criminal investigations which could have resulted in hard time in a federal pen. Seen last week on Democratic Underground. I won't even bother linking to that cesspool. Apparently, anyone that's not from New York is not allowed to have any emotions about 9/11. Furthermore, we southerners can collectively "go piss up a rope." The poster was Joanne98. Since tomorrow is the anniversary of the "excuse" the cowboy uses to attack anybody he wants to. I'm bracing myself for the ongoing images of people in small red state towns exploiting the victims of 9/11. CNN is already showing people in small town Texas CRYING over New York City's loses. Well, you know what. You never liked New Yorkers. You hated New Yorkers remember. If you really cared about the victims of 9/11 you would vote for John Kerry because that's the only thing they want you to do. But NO! Instead you brought the Bush bastard's convention to ground Zero and thought NYC would be glad to see you. Instead of getting flowers and candy you got protesters, a half a million of them that said. GO HOME. Do you remember the Evita song... DON'T CRY FOR ME DIRTSVILLE TEXAS.......... You've heard the ridicule that (in hindsight) has been heaped on George W Bush and Tony Blair concerning their claims of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. You've heard the disgust, and the outrage, with America and its allies because of WMD as the, or as a, main reason for going to war in Iraq. And if you live in France, you've heard the mocking, the horselaughter, and the spitting revulsion twice as loudly as anywhere else. What, now, if it turned out that not only had the White House and 10 Downing Street not lied, but they had been deliberately misled into believing the reality of the WMD was undeniable, and that by none other than those whose laughter has been the loudest and whose outrage has been expressed in the most bitter way? What if it turned out that the citizens of France — who have been lauding their leaders for opposing Bush and who have been priding themselves on their superior wisdom as well as their immunity to manipulation (notably their inability to be taken in by a greedy oil fiend like Dubya) — had actually been fooled by their own leaders precisely into believing just that? Well, well well... What have we here? CBS may be manufacturing news again? Say it isn't so! September 09, 2004 (UPDATED: "At Least" 90% Positive They're Fake) Are the CBS National Guard Documents Fake? INDC Exclusive. Must Credit INDC. Based on Powerline's suspicions of forgery over the documents put forth regarding George W. Bush’s National Guard service, I decided to do some legwork and track down the opinions of forensic document examiners that may have an expertise in old typefaces. After contacting several experts, a rather notable Forensic Document Examiner named Dr. Philip Bouffard took the time to examine a pdf of the documents and perform an initial visual analysis of their authenticity. Dr. Bouffard has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, but got involved in forensic examination of typefaces after working in “graphics” with NCR until 1973 and taking a two-year Certification Program in Document Examination at Georgetown University. After completing the program, he became specifically interested in typewriter classification and went to work for a prosecutor’s crime lab in Lake County, Ohio. Using something called the Haas Atlas, the definitive collection of various typefaces, Mr. Bouffard (and other forensic document examiners) examined the veracity of various documents for over 30 years. Beginning in 1988, Mr. Bouffard hired a programmer to write a computer database program that catalogues the nearly 4,000 typefaces that appear in the Haas Atlas. This computer program is now a forensic standard that is sold as a companion to the Haas Atlas by American Society of Questioned Document Examiners (ASQDE). Though semi-retired, Dr. Bouffard is one of the top two experts in forensic document examination (regarding typefaces) in the country. UPDATE: The name of the program that Dr. Bouffard developed is called "The Typewriter Typestyle Classification Program" (C:TYPE). What did Dr. Bouffard think of the documents? First, the necessary caveats: • The pdf document is of poor quality. It seems to have been copied and recopied several times, blurring letter characteristics. • Also, certain types of analysis can only be done on the original documents, which don’t seem to be available, even to CBS. So Dr. Bouffard is very clear that his analysis is not 100% positive. That being said … “It’s just possible that this might be a Times Roman font, which means that it would have been created on a computer. It’s very possible that someone decided to create this document on a computer... I’ve run across this situation before … my gut is this could just well be a fabrication.” The reasons why? • Right off the bat, Dr. Bouffard noted what others in the blogosphere have been talking about – something called “proportional spacing,” which means that each letter does not take up the same amount of width on the page. On old typewriters that do not have proportional spacing, the letter “i” would be as wide as the letter “m.” Except for professional typesetting, proportional spacing was only available on a very few models (an IBM model, "Executive" and perhaps one or two other models Mini-Update: Dr. Bouffard e-mails to correct me that it was seven or eight possible models, not one or two - Ed) that were not widely available in 1972-73; the vast majority of typewriters did not have proportional spacing. Because of this, Dr. Bouffard’s computer program immediately eliminated “over 90%” of the possible fonts from typewriters that could create such a document, narrowing it down to perhaps 15 fonts used by a very few models. • Next, Dr. Bouffard began entering individual characters in an attempt to match them to the remaining fonts that were available on proportional spacing typewriters of that era, focusing on numbers. Thus far, one character stood out, the number “4.” In the document provided by CBS News, the number 4 does not "have a foot" and has a “closed top,” which is indicative of Times New Roman, a font exclusive to more modern computer word processing programs. other characters matched the old proportional spacing fonts (available on only a small few typewriters of the era), but this number did not (please note that this is only an initial analysis with numerical characters). Dr. Bouffard ran this number and could not find a match in his entire database of over 4,000 typewriter fonts that have been maintained and collected into his computer database since 1988. Otherwise, the font is very indicative of Times New Roman, the font that is only available on computer word processing programs. The final word? Once again, let’s not forget the qualifications: it's a bad copy of a copy and we have no original document for review, but, based on the initial analysis of the documents by an industry expert with over 30 years of experience in typesetting and forensic document examination, the documents “could just well be a fabrication.” In light of this information, I think that it would be highly appropriate for CBS News and the Boston Globe to attempt to obtain a copy of the original document for more thorough vetting, and run a correction/addendum to the story. I still have two other forensic document examiners that are examining the pdf file, and I will update if/when they get back to me. I also plan to ask Dr. Bouffard more detail about the nature of the "th" on the end of dates, though in our first conversation he indicated that some typewriters had the capability to do something in that format. Yesterday's Lies: Steve Pitkin and the Winter Soldiers My name is Steve Pitkin, age 20, from Baltimore. I served with the 9th Division from May of '69 until I was airvaced in July of '69. I'll testify about the beating of civilians and enemy personnel, destruction of villages, indiscriminate use of artillery, the general racism and the attitude of the American GI toward the Vietnamese. I will also talk about some of the problems of the GIs toward one another and the hassle with officers. -- Steve Pitkin, Winter Soldier Investigation, February 1, 1971. ---------- Steve Pitkin never intended to speak at the Winter Soldier Investigation. He agreed to come to Detroit with John Kerry and Scott Camil in January of 1971 mostly to support his fellow veterans, but also to see David Crosby and Graham Nash perform and hopefully meet a few girls. He didn’t really have any place else to go. Unlike most members of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Pitkin had seen combat in Vietnam. He was caught in a mortar attack shortly after arriving in country as a Private First Class, and suffered minor wounds to both legs. During the months that followed his injuries became infected and "jungle rot" set in. He was eventually medivaced to an Army hospital in Okinawa, where the doctors gave him anti-fungals and antibiotics, and managed to save his feet. Specialist Pitkin would leave the Army with a Purple Heart, an honorable discharge, and a lifetime case of hepatitis C from the transfusions. Back in the States, Pitkin did not receive a hero's welcome. At Travis Air Force Base in California he was showered with feces thrown by anti-war protestors. Later, while he waited in his Class A uniform for a plane at San Francisco International Airport, people stopped to snarl obscenities and occasionally spit. Even a World War II veteran paused to come over and call him a coward. He went back home to Baltimore, but it wasn’t home any more. Steve Pitkin was 19 years old. "I was in bad shape," Pitkin recalls. "My family was against the war, and so were all my old friends. I had things I wanted to say, but there was nobody to listen. I was angry at our government which should have known better than to let us die in a conflict it had no intention of winning, and I was furious at the American media for making us out to be baby-killers and telling lies about what they saw." Confused and depressed, Pitkin signed up for classes at Catonsville Community College outside of Baltimore. There he met Scott Camil, who was talking up a new organization he described as a "brotherhood" of Vietnam veterans. Pitkin started going to Vietnam Veterans Against the War meetings at the campus, hoping to find some people he could talk to about his experiences. Pitkin says he "had no inkling" that VVAW leaders were meeting with North Vietnamese and Vietcong representatives, or that the VVAW consistently supported their positions. He thought the VVAW was just an alternative to older organizations such as the VFW, where so many Vietnam vets felt unwelcome. In January of 1971, Pitkin was invited to go to Detroit for the VVAW's "Winter Soldier Investigation," a national conference intended to convince the public that American troops were routinely committing war crimes in Vietnam. "I was just going to show support for the guys who were already picked out to testify," said Pitkin. "Fighting in the war was terrible enough -– I shot people -- but I never saw any atrocities against civilians. The Vietcong hung up tribal chiefs and disemboweled them in front of their own families –- they did that to their own people. I never saw Americans do anything like that." Pitkin watched for a day or so while his fellow VVAW members told stories about horrible things they claimed to have done or witnessed in Vietnam. He noticed other people, civilians, going around to the VVAW members and "bombarding them, laying on the guilt," as they told the veterans they had committed unspeakable crimes, but could make amends by testifying against the war. On the second day of the conference, Pitkin was surrounded by a group of the event's leaders, who said they needed more witnesses and wanted him to speak. Pitkin protested that he didn’t have anything to say. Kerry said, "Surely you had to have seen some of the atrocities." Pitkin insisted that he hadn't, and the group's mood turned menacing. One of the other leaders leaned in and whispered, "It’s a long walk back to Baltimore." Pitkin finally agreed to "testify." The Winter Soldier leaders told Pitkin exactly what they wanted -– stories about rape, brutality, shooting prisoners, and racism. Kerry assured him that "the American people will be grateful for what you have to say." After digesting the rest of the article, consider this... AFFIDAVIT OF STEVEN J. Pitkin, known, to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to this instrument, who, after first being duly sworn by me, upon oath stated: 1. My name is Steven J. Pitkin. I am over the age of twenty-one years, and I am fully competent and able to make this affidavit. I am able to swear, as I do hereby swear, that all facts and statements contained in this affidavit are true and correct and within my personal knowledge. 2. I am a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the Ninth Division of the U.S. Army beginning 25 May 1969. A mortar explosion wounded me, my wounds gradually became infected, and I was treated in an Army hospital in Okinawa. I contracted hepatitis C from blood transfusions I received during that time. I was honorably discharged from the Army on 28 August 1969. 3. Medals received for my Army service include: Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry, Air Medal, Purple Heart. 4. During my service in Vietnam, I neither witnessed nor participated in any American war crimes or atrocities against civilians, nor was I ever aware of any such actions. I did witness the results of Vietcong atrocities against Vietnamese civilians, including the murder of tribal leaders. 5. Upon my return to the United States I encountered anti-war protestors who, at various times, threw feces, spit, and screamed obscenities. 6. I met Scott Camil, an organizer of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), at Catonsville Community College in Baltimore in 1970, and joined that organization. 7. In January of 1971, I rode in a van with Scott Camil, John Kerry, a national leader of the VVAW, and others from Washington D.C. to Detroit to attend the Winter Soldier Investigation, a conference intended to publicize alleged American war crimes in Vietnam. Having no knowledge of such war crimes, I did not intend to speak at the event. 8. During the Winter Soldier Investigation, John Kerry and other leaders of that event pressured me to testify about American war crimes, despite my repeated statements that I could not honestly do so. One event leader strongly implied that I would not be provided transportation back to my home in Baltimore, Maryland, if I failed to comply. Kerry and other leaders of the event instructed me to publicly state that I had witnessed incidents of rape, brutality, atrocities and racism, knowing that such statements would necessarily be untrue. 9. In April 1971, I attended a VVAW protest in Washington D.C. known as “Dewey Canyon III.” During this event I was present when protestors, including John Kerry, threw medals and ribbons over a fence outside the U.S. Capitol. I witnessed a man holding a bag of ribbons and medals and handing them out to other protestors. I saw that many of the ribbons and medals were not those that would be received by veterans of combat in Vietnam. 10. During the “Dewey Canyon III” protest, others and I confronted protestors who were wearing or carrying Vietcong flags. 11. After the “Dewey Canyon III” protest, I was no longer invited to meetings of the VVAW in Baltimore, and ended my association with the organization. 12. I joined the 5/20th Special Forces Group of the Maryland National Guard in 1974, was graduated from paratrooper “jump school” with honors in 1976, joined the Coast Guard in 1978 and served there until my retirement in May 1997. As of now, media reports indicate at least 335 victims, mostly children, who already died as a direct result of this terror act. Over 700 victims, also mostly children, have been taken to local hospitals, a large number of them with very serious injuries. Our Foundation is raising charitable donations which will be fully distributed to the families or injured children or caretakers of those children who lost their parents. We are a grassroots project run by a group of volunteers, and we are the only such foundation outside Russia. All donations are tax-deductible. |

London Convention Will Celebrate 9/11 MEMRI, 9/3/04 The London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that the extremist Islamic movement Al-Muhajiroun had announced a convention in London, titled "The Choice is in Your Hands: Either You're with the Muslims or with the Infidels," to mark the third anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The organization had planned a similar anniversary event a year ago, called "The Magnificent 19 [Suicide Attackers]," but had cancelled it at the last minute. The following is a summary of the report: Al-Muhajiroun leader Omar Bakri, a Syrian residing in London, told the paper by phone that the convention would feature Al-Qa'ida "surprises," with the screening of a never-before-shown video. He said that the convention will focus on "the anniversary of the division of the world into two great camps – the camp of faith and the camp of unbelief," and would take place September 11, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Bakri added: "On this day, we will talk about the ramifications of these [9/11] operations for Afghanistan and Iraq… We want the world to remember this operation … that lifted the head of the [Muslim] nation." Bakri called 9/11 "a cry of Jihad against unbelief and oppression," and said that the aim of remembering it is to "revive the commandment of Jihad among the youth of the [Muslim] nation." Bakri said that the convention will also feature a lecture about the Islamic religious roots of "slaughtering the infidels," that is, beheading foreigners in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and that there will be films by Al-Qa'ida, the Tawhid and Jihad organization, and the Brigades of the Two Holy Places in the Arabian Peninsula, and that there will also be a film on the most recent operations in Chechnya. He added that one of the speeches, by Abu Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi, known to be Al-Qa'ida's military commander in Iraq, will be translated. Another lecture, he said, would be dedicated to the memory of three Al-Qa'ida commanders: Abd Al-'Aziz Al-Muqren (Abu Hajer), killed in June 2004 by Saudi security forces; his predecessor Yousef Al-Ayyiri, killed in June 2003 in a clash with Saudi security forces, and Abu Hafs Al-Masri, a top Al-Qa'ida military officer, killed in the U.S. attack on Kandahar in late 2001. According to Bakri, the anticipated criticism of Al-Muhajiroun for the organization's insistence on memorializing 9/11 will be "a simple sacrifice in comparison with what we must actually do – that is, support the Jihad led by bin Laden." Attorney Anjam Choudry, secretary-general of Al-Muhajiroun in Britain, said, "A large hall has already been secured for the convention, but the announcement came only two days ago for fear that the British police would try to cancel it, as happened with the previous convention." Bush offered his wishes while campaigning one day after accepting the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in New York. Clinton was hospitalized in New York after complaining of mild chest pain and shortness of breath. Bush recently praised Clinton when the former president went to the White House for the unveiling of his official portrait. Stop Ducking for Cover ALICIA COLON acolon@nysun.com It’s a good thing that the chairman of the Republican National Committee, Ed Gillespie, had to leave the Congress of Racial Equality reception early. If he had stayed a while longer, he might have heard the chairman of CORE, Roy Innis, upbraid the GOP leadership in a powerful speech that was wildly applauded by the audience. Mr. Innis had started his speech by noting that George W. Bush four years ago only got 7% of the black vote. “I asked myself what did this young man do, from a fine family, a family that ran the United Negro College Fund for decades, what did he do to make black folks so angry at him?” Mr. Innis said. He then asked, “Is it because he’s a Republican? But then it was the Republicans that freed us from slavery. It was the Republican Party who passed the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments. In modern times, in the 20th century, it was the Republican Party that was behind the civil rights bill of the late ’50s. The people who opposed it were the Democrats. “That is the profound, dismal ignorance that exists in our country and among our people.They do not realize what the Bush family has done, not just this decade but for many decades,” he said. I must admit that I, too, had no idea of the connection between the Bush family and the United Negro College Fund. Jonathan Bush, George H.W. Bush’s brother, was chairman until 1994, and the Bush family has always been a major donor. “What is really sad is that the Democrats get no penalty for filibustering the civil rights bill of the ’50s and the ’60s,” Mr. Innis said. He drew laughs when he asked if Jack Kennedy was the first or the second black president. “What many people here may not remember is that Jack Kennedy voted against the civil rights bill in the late ’50s while the Republicans were voting for it,” he said. “Why,” he asked, “are the Republicans so ashamed of their great deeds, the great things they have done? Why are they so shy? Why do they duck for cover? ” How, Mr. Innis wondered, did George W. Bush go from getting 27% of the black vote in Texas to getting only 5% there when he ran for president? “George Soros, in a pre-527 mode, financed a multimillion-dollar ad campaign to distort reality,” Mr. Innis said. He was referring to the NAACP ad that suggested that George Bush, who was then governor of Texas, was part of the lynch mob that dragged James Byrd in chains behind a pickup truck. Mr. Innis called the ad perverse, and a complete distortion of the facts. “All the Democrats have to do is raise allegations of racism and the Republicans duck and run for cover. You have nothing to be ashamed of,” he said. At this, the crowd of Republican delegates, black and white, were stomping their feet and clapping loudly in agreement. He then asked the delegates present to go back to the convention and raise their voices, saying, “We need your help. Use your votes as delegates to tell the leadership to stop ducking for cover.We need your help.We need to break free from the one-party plantation. It’s not good for minorities and it’s not good for the country.We will not go anyplace in this country with this one-party madness.” Just about every ethnic group was represented in that SRO museum auditorium. Yarmulkes and African headdresses were also visible in the crowd. Skin tones, which ranged from ebony to ivory, blended into a harmonious community bent on spreading Mr. Innis’s message “Republicans, you have nothing to be ashamed of.” |

Things getting sticky for owner of sticker By Matthew D. LaPlante The Salt Lake Tribune Derek Kjar is not the president's biggest fan. But the 19-year-old Salt Lake County man says he does not intend to harm President Bush with anything more than a vote for John Kerry come November. Just to be sure, though, agents from the Secret Service recently paid Kjar a visit, telling him that his neighbors had alerted them to a potentially threatening bumper sticker on his car. The sticker, which can be found on a number of Web sites, features a black-and-white likeness of Bush, a crown tilted slightly on his head. Under the image are the words "KING GEORGE - OFF WITH HIS HEAD." "Oh, please," said David Hudson, a research attorney who works for the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University. "It's political hyperbole. However distasteful you might think it is, it's pure political speech." Hudson said the message would never qualify as a true threat under the law. But Kjar didn't know that. He said the agent he contacted in response to a cryptic message left on his voice mail would not even say why he wanted to talk - only that he wanted to meet Thursday morning. That's when Kjar began to cry. "I didn't know what the hell was going on," he said. "It made me so nervous." Kjar said two agents visited him at his job at a dry cleaning service, where they asked him about whether he had any ties to terrorist groups or enjoyed reading historical accounts of assassinations. They also asked Kjar about his friends and family, and even wanted to know how he paid his monthly rent. The agents finally left after Kjar handed over the sticker. C'mon, guys! This is just really inexcusable. He's just a punk with more mouth than spine. |

Consider this: A $500,000 ad buy made by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth brings searing media scrutiny and "proof" of illegal coordination based on a lawyer (me) representing both the Bush-Cheney campaign and the Swift Boat Veterans; on an accountant working for Tom DeLay's political action committee; and on a $200,000 contributor to the group who is not a major donor to Bush-Cheney 2004 but who does know Karl Rove. Meanwhile, the media give practically no scrutiny to a $63 million, five-month, negative-ad buy done by Democratic "527" groups (the Media Fund, MoveOn.org and others) with a revolving door of connections to the Kerry campaign. Consider: • Kerry campaign lawyer Bob Bauer and Democratic National Committee counsel Joe Sandler also represent 527s -- not illegal, but doesn't it deserve a little scrutiny? • Jim Jordan, John Kerry's campaign manager until last November, works for three of the 527s. She began by criticizing the scenes in Fahrenheit 911 depicting a pre-war Iraq of children peacefully playing and weddings taking place. "Wasn't that misleading?" Moore claimed he only used the footage to show the kinds of people killed by US bombing, not to suggest Saddam's Iraq was a "utopia." Next, Katie said that "many people say the Dems don't want you to be the face of the party." "Who said that?" demanded Moore. "Well, Tim Russert for one," answered Katie. She added: "let's face it, many people think you're a jerk." An obviously hurt Moore responded: "but you don't think I'm a jerk, do you Katie?" Katie refused to come to his aid: "well, my views aren't important, it's the views of the Dem party." "But come on, Katie, you know me." "I really don't know you very well." "But, come one, from talking after the shows, etc. You don't think I'm a jerk, do you?" "I really don't know you well enough to say that." Finally, in a scene so amazing I could hardly believe my eyes and ears, Moore virtually asked Katie out on a date, and was shot down with a classic co-ed line. Katie asked Moore if he'd be going back to the convention and Moore said he would, probably tonight and tomorrow. Then Moore added: "will you come with me, Katie?" A shocked Katie replied: "No," then, incredibly, added: "I HAVE TO RE-ARRANGE MY SOCK DRAWER." Yes, she actually said it.
