So many people taken in by Gore's hysterical lies
11.13.07 (11:14 am)   [edit]

Dennis Prager has, for years, had an expression: "Being on the left means never having to say you're sorry."

Well, I think you could also just as easily say, "being on the left means never having to tell the truth."

How is it that Al Gore can get away with the demonstrably false claims made in his movie, which is still being used by the left all over the world to terrorize school children? Even people on the left, people who believe in anthropogenic global warming, are saying he plays fast and loose with lots of different "scientific" facts.

A British judge, someone who stated that he believes that Gore's film was "broadly accurate," nonetheless identified nine factual errors in An Inconvenient Truth.

As we reported in a June 2006 article, a climatologist who also generally believes in anthropogenic global warming withdrew himself from participation in the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change because it had become "politicized," and specifically because he strongly disagreed with the rapidly spreading notion that increases in hurricane activity were caused by global warming. This notion of global warming-driven hurricane activity was a feature of Gore's film.

And NOW, you have Bjorn Lomborg, himself a man of the environmental and political left, once again taking Gore to task. In this article in the London Telegraph, Lomborg shows how even the IPCC---as politicized as it is, as generally convinced of anthropogenic global warming as it is---even the IPCC makes Gore look like a liar and a buffoon.

And yet Gore's film is STILL being used to terrorize schoolchildren.

I've never seen his film, which is a poor thing to say for someone who prides himself on being up-to-date on the issues of the day. I should rent it from the local Blockbuster, and try to watch it even if it means foregoing popcorn and coke, just so I can respond better. I do understand that Gore refuses to debate the very points brought up on the so-called-movie. He thinks they are beyond dispute. It's a regular tactic of hubris for those who think they have superior enlightement- i.e. most liberals. But, hey, Gore won the Nobel- he must be right?
